Fighting Prostate Cancer Together

CELEBRATION OF HOPE GALA
September 25, 2003

The Fifth Annual Celebration of Hope Gala was a resounding success.  The attendance of over 700 guests signified the support of the Florida Prostate Cancer Network's (FPCN) mission.

This year we were delighted to recognize the efforts of Monsignor Laurence Higgins, Pastor of St. Lawrence Parish. His compassion is legendary in the Tampa Bay area, and we saluted him with this evening with a tribute of his life and accomplishments that have affected so many people in our community.

We were also extremely fortunate to have had General Norman Schwarzkopf, a prostate cancer survivor, as the honorary chairman to present the annual "Pioneer in Prostate Cancer Award" named in his honor to Monsignor Higgins.  General Schwarzkopf is a true hero to our organization - his personal war on prostate cancer has given much attention to the cause and he is an inspiration to us all.

The evening was a true celebration of Hope - Hope that we will find a cure.  Thank you to all who attended and your continued support of FPCN.  Your contributions to our Gala make possible the programs, services and support to help the men, and their families, afflicted by this disease.
