Support Groups provide the opportunity to share with other prostate cancer survivors and their families.  Encompassed in the support group environment is peer support and education through presentations by medical professionals and also other survivors.  Each group functions differently; so you may want to try several groups to find the right "fit".

SoS (Spouses of Survivors)

SoS is a non-profit organization helping people with family members who have undergone the ravages of cancer.  As a program of FPCN, SoS seeks to provide the education and support needed by spouses and loved ones as the family attempts to deal with the life changes.  SoS offers monthly support group meetings, peer counseling by spouses of survivors, a Professional Counseling Referral Program, a HELPLINE to call for support, access to the FPCN website, the FPCN newsletter, legislative updates on the war against cancer and annual education and support forums.
